There is nothing impossible for God to do

There is nothing impossible for God to do! 22/5/14

Bible Reading Job 38 vs 1 – 41

Recapping on what we shared last week, we established what Paul the apostle emphasized in Roman 1 vs 16: We are not ashamed of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; On the contrary, we have complete confidence in the gospel for it is the power of GOD that brings salvation to somebody. So that is why we preach this gospel, we pray this gospel, we prophesy this gospel, and we sing this gospel… What is the gospel? The gospel is “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever will believe in Him will not perish but have eternal life…” Jn 3 vs 16 This gospel is what has been preached by the apostles of Jesus Christ for thousands of years and it’s still been preached and it is saving and setting many people free with lots of evidence in the bible.

We therefore concluded that Jesus Christ is not an invitation but the Rescuer! His death on the cross demonstrated his victory over the power of sin and death Col 2 vs 15. Jesus’ coming into the world was and is to save human being first from our sin. Matt 1 vs 21. We also mentioned that it takes power tussle to get somebody saved, or healed, free… Jesus Christ while on the cross, disarmed powers and authorities, he strip/disrobe the devil and his demons of their title and authority; Jesus used the cross to deprive satan of the power he had long exerted on people and the bible said Jesus made a public spectacle of him by triumphing over him at the cross.

Jesus triumph on the cross, it’s a conundrum; it is a mystery! How could killing Jesus on the cross result in him triumphing over satan? The thought is once someone is dead, you can’t touch him, and you can’t hurt him. So on that cross Jesus took our place, we literary died with him and buried with him and eventually rose with; so we can’t be touch we were dead! Remember satan! Sickness! No wonder the book of revelation said for those who are in Christ Jesus they have escaped the second death. Death can’t kill twice! The mystery of godliness is amazing. That is why Jesus said to his disciple “blessed are those who believe even before seeing…” So when Jesus rose on that 3rd day, everything about him became nightmare for the kingdom of darkness; his name -at the name of Jesus every knees will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord;, his blood- we overcame by the blood of the lamb; his word- the word of the Lord is a lamp for our feet; He literarily strips the devil of all the powers that God gave him before when he was still the archangel.

Scenario – You can imagine being this very powerful creature and someone just came on the scene, disarm and strip you of your power and gives it to some random/ordinary people.. That is exactly what Jesus did to satan on the cross. I have the power now, satan no longer have mastery over me; sin no longer have mastery over me; sickness no longer have the power over me; everything satan represent no longer have power over me… For that and many more reasons is why the cross is a power generator for believers/ Christians. It is important to establish at this point that God is not the opposite of satan, as popularly portrayed. God is not made more powerful by disarming satan, nor by demonstrating his victory over him on the cross; NO! Instead mankind is made more powerful by the event that transpired on the cross. For those that will believe and put their trust in Jesus Christ, they are entitled to enjoy the share of the power that God has taken off satan.

That is why I am not afraid neither should anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour, God is God all by Himself. No one makes God more or less powerful. God owns all power. He gave it; He takes it; without asking question. I must say it is profound statement to make when Jesus said to his disciples in Mkatt 28 vs 18 “ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me…”. And one day every tongue will confess the same. That God is ALL-Mighty! The scope of God’s power is beyond the understanding of neither the greatest minds that have ever lived nor those that are yet to live. It is only fair to be sure at this stage in the time that we need to be sure that what you lend yourself to/ what we put our trust in for our security or what we hope to help … has what it takes to do so when it matters? The majority of the people we know and live with prefer to believe they are in charged until such a situation arise that makes them feel a little bit unsure of who is really charge… And there is nothing wrong with being in charge of your life or your health or your wealth, or your mind… but just be sure you have the ability to discharge effective commands to put off that power (that cancer) that might come to challenge that health that you are so in charge of, or the redundancy that might want to challenge that wealth or that Dementia that might want to challenge that mind that you are so in control of… 5 | Pag e God gives order to the morning… Job 38 vs 12; He shows the dawn its place… All these are powers tend to come around ever so often to test powers… they come around to check if the strong man in the house is stronger… The devil go around the bible says looking for whom to devour… if he finds the one in charge in your life not strong enough, it’s a shame you are devourable… but the devil is a liar.. Being vulnerable has nothing to do with old age or young age… Someone is vulnerable when their strong man who is in charge of their lives is not strong enough…

I have been in company of a 90 year old woman full of health, satisfied, full of joy with sound mind because at one time in her live, she made the decision to take advantage of the awesome power of God by lending herself to worship and serve God for her time here on earth, thus trusting and believing in him. It takes the power of God to change people …1 Sam 10 vs6 It takes the power of God to make people strong… Judges 14 vs 19 It takes the power of God to break free from every oppressive spirit…2 King 13 vs 3 It takes the power of God to live a life free of sorrow… It takes the power of God to have your mind sane… 6 | Pag e God lends his power to people who will trust him enough to worship him…, worship the greatness of his power, because he is above all… And He takes power from anyone who will not give Him the praise that He deserves. I am talking of God, before whom death and destruction are naked…, Job 26 vs 6 He has power over the skies, the clouds, light, darkness, and lightning Job 35 vs 9 Men cry out under a load of oppression; they plead for relief from the arm of the powerful But no one says where God is my Maker… or put their trust in God or cry out to Him. … no one worship God… our nation has lend it’s worship to what is not god at all and it is experiencing the power of those things… wickedness, oppression, violence, injustice, diseases and sickness(plagues)-cancer is plaguing both young and old, dementia and Alzheimer ravishing our old… but the devil is a liar because a remnant are arising in the nukes and carnies of this nation lifting up holy hands and voices to acknowledge and praise the greatness of God’s power…people who will not rest until his praise fills this land 7 | Pag e and then we will begin to see God’s power working freedom in homes, in marriages, in the lives of our young and our old.

Prayer; 1Chr 7 vs 13 – 14 O Lord we pray that you hear our prayer from heaven and heal our land. We exalt you O’ God in your power. Job 36:32 We praise you in the greatness of your power… We adore you and we look to you to show your power and do your mighty works in our lives. Do the impossible; give us the power to live a victorious life. You command the morning, command things/ situations and events in our favour O’ God. We asked all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
